Photo Walks

I usually capture most of my photos during my weekends, when I can have my brain in creative mode. Most of the time, I always have my camera on me, even if I don't plan on shooting anything! I am always trying to capture the moment and beauty around me on a day to day basis. I don't usually plan a whole lot of my pictures that I end up loving. Photo walks are one of my favorite ways to open my mind and think out of the box! Just a casual stroll, not too focused on anything but capturing the beauty of the things around you. Switch it up now and then and go a different route, maybe drive 10 minutes to get a scene you don't normally see.

Impromptu shots on the lake

I wanted to go see the bats fly under the south congress bridge(for the 1000th time lol), my fiancee and I went out and sat on the edge of town lake for about an hour andddd nothing. Dark before any bats flew out. While we were waiting, I decided to grab a few pics on the water side, right before twilight hour. Not even wanting or planning these shots, it still tells a story. The sunset on the water, some peace in the reflections of the bustling city, and love. Even if things aren't planned, doesn't mean it cant happen, keep your eyes open for new shots everyday. You never know what you will find next:)

Photo Drives

I also love to go on photo drives. My favorite is when my fiancee drives me around(yes yes my little passenger princess self) to all of my favorite advantage points to see the skyline. In Austin, there are quite a few different types of “vibes” throughout the city. Whether you are hiking up Mount Bonnell to see the views or strolling down the capitol mall, you will get stunning views all around you.

This particular weekend, I  stopped down by the marina and got some neat shots that capture how summer feels in Austin to me. I drove around different areas down by the water to get that 'summer in the Austin' vibe! I didn't have any thing in particular I wanted to capture other than just the world moving around me. It doesn't have to be anything spectacular, as long as it means something to you! You have to love your work first! Get out there and explore! Whether it's planned or not, just go when you can!!
