Hey there,
I'm Juniper
I am the person behind the camera at Juniper’s Lenswork.
I’m a queer, trans photographer based in central Illinois. I started photography through a love of nature—being outside, chasing light, and taking my time with things. That slower, more observant way of seeing the world is still a big part of how I shoot today.
Over time, photography became more than just landscapes. It turned into a way for me to connect with people and create something that feels honest and real.
I know being in front of a camera can feel uncomfortable or vulnerable, especially if you’ve never really felt seen in photos before. That’s something I care about a lot — creating space where you don’t feel like you have to perform or fit into anything.
I’m not super rigid or overly structured when I shoot. I like things to feel natural — more like we’re just hanging out, exploring, and documenting moments as they happen.
When I’m not working, I’m usually out somewhere quiet with my camera, taking photos of wildlife or landscapes, or just driving around looking for good light.
What It’s Like to Work With Me
I keep things relaxed and collaborative. You don’t need modeling experience. You don’t need to “know what to do.” I’ll guide you when you need it, but I’m not here to force you into stiff poses or gender roles that don’t feel right. This is about: moving naturally, expressing yourself, and capturing real moments, not perfection. We can plan something intentional, or just go wander and create together.
A Safe Space Always
I prioritize consent, comfort, and respect in every shoot. That means: no assumptions about identity or relationships, using the correct names and pronouns, checking in throughout the session, and creating a judgment-free environment. You deserve to feel safe and seen—not just in the final images, but in the entire experience.
